Contact Stats
Contact Stats will give you the ability to see a little bit more detail about the individuals you have on your device. The first view is Total Contacts, which is simple yet useful, as the quantity of contacts on your Android device can quickly reach outrageous numbers. This happens when addresses are stored from a map search or duplicates are created on accident. Total Contacts is a good place to look to make sure your contact list is in check.
Contact Stats can also show you how many of your contacts are "Starred" and how many are not. This is another simple insight to the people and places stored in your Android device. My device shows only 2 "Starred" and 140 not.
The last view is probably the most interesting in the Contact Stats section. Email Addresses (Addr.) By Domain. This will sort through your contacts and count how many of them have email addresses belonging to the same domain. This allows you to see what kind of people you most associate with, are they Googlers, Yahoo'ers, or they may be affiliated with some other web mail giant.
Contact Stats is one of the most time consuming to develop for because the Android API has changed a significant amount in version 5 (Android 2.0) and later. They have created a whole new engine for collecting data about the contacts in your device. Our plan at this point is to continue with as many pre and post 2.0 stats as we can. There is still talk about the G1 being able to handle version 2.0 (which seems to be a slim chance because of available memory). But at this time we have not read any confirmation. If the G1 gets 2.0 yay! If it does not then we will slowly transition our focus to the 2.0 features since Google is making many advances away from the pre-2.0 contact engine.
